OUR OPINION
This location is a 5 star luxury retreat. It is a great choice for someone looking to be pampered in a full service environment in the heart of beautiful tuscany. A truly spectacular venue!
"This 12th century castle is the perfect backdrop to enjoy the scenic Tuscan countryside. It is centrally located, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany making day trips to many small towns very easy. Florence is only about 35-40 minutes away. The hotel (also a winery and olive oil producer) is well-appointed, has a world class spa, beautiful outdoor pool, great food and wine and a fantastic staff! Two great wineries are located within 15 minutes of the hotel. LOVED it!"

"Just returned from our European adventure to be married and what a great experience we had at the castle! Our already high expectations were exceeded! This does not happen to us. We were married on the property in an old chapel and were treated exceptionally well from the minute we arrived-to the free shuttle ride back into Florence. Everyone we encountered either knew my name by the first morning or was aware that we were the couple there to be married. We were made to feel special. We were not the only ones to feel this way. The service here is top notch. The effort is put forth by every individual to do a better than “good” job. They are genuinely nice to tourists and there is no sense of any negative vibes due to being a tourist or American or whatever. Most employees, like 90%, spoke such good English that you could almost forget the fact that you’re in the heart of Italy-if not for the breathtaking views that surround the whole area.

Go for a walk or a bike ride. The local area is wonderful. Go into Tavernelle and experience a small Italian town. Try the wine/dinner tasting event put on by the hotel, my wife and did and had a great time and learned a lot. A must is the ESPA. My favorite spa I’ve ever been to as far as the amenities. There are several Roman bathes style treatments like a Laconium and cool new things like a scented shower and ice fountain. Try the comunal pool outside, it has some pretty neat and relaxing features. One of which is a high powered blast of water that will really do a number on any knots in your shoulders or neck. Can’t say enough about our fantastic time here! FYI: I have stayed in some exceptional hotels and this is one of them. You will be surprised by the level of class and services available in a remote Tuscan Castello built upon a castle from the 12th century!"
